Marines donning CIRAS in training.
I was doing my usual airsoft/gun reading routine and stumbled across this very interesting article on RedWolf Airsoft comparing the differing quality between the ‘imitation’ CIRAS (Combat Integrated Releasable Armor System) vests available on the market. A very interesting article to say the least simply because it gives insight to the tools/equipment that the fighting men and women of America don into hostile combat zones.

Though they maybe imitations, they seem realistic enough and would probably do, speculatively, half as well as the real CIRAS vest. I say this simply because RedWolf Airsoft themselves have clearly stated in their article that they’ve even sent some to Iraq, though I must say, hopefully it ain’t for the Insurgents.
Anyway, pretty cool to say the least, though I do wonder if there are any practical uses for theses systems in the civilian market OTHER than skirmishes.
This has got to be one of the most complicated ‘piece of clothing’ that I’ve ever seen. Click on the image to enlarge.
As cool as it maybe but I doubt even the most extreme outdoors men would even go to such lengths in wearing these sort of things in efforts to modularize their equipment loadout. Come to think of it, why am I even posting this as well?
Sadly, I want one too!
